Karen Jounouchi (城之内 カレン Jōnouchi Karen) is the wife of Steven Jounouchi and the mother of Prism Star Serena Jounouchi. She is never seen onscreen and her voice is never heard, but she is known to be very intimidating as she is feared by her husband where she voices her complaints at any time to her husband by calling him and his security team.

- Karen's surname Jounouchi means "castle" (城) (jou), "this" (之) (no) and "inside, within" (内) (uchi), which literally means "within the castle" altogether.
