Ai Jouzenji (上善寺 アイ Jōzenji Ai) is one of the classmates of Naru, and one of her good friends. She is often seen with their other friend, Rina Uchida. Ai chose to work at a bakery in her neighborhood for the work experience course at her school.

Ai's surname Jouzenji means "above, top, upper" (上) (jou), "good" (善) (zen) and "temple" (寺) (ji).
